Vastu Shastra, often referred to simply as Vastu, is an ancient Indian science of architecture and
spatial design that aims to create harmonious living and working environments. Rooted in the Vedic
tradition, Vastu combines art, astronomy, astrology, and science to guide the design, layout,
measurements, and spatial geometry of buildings.

The word Vastu comes from the Sanskrit term "Vas" which means to dwell or reside, and Shastra
means a science or doctrine. Together, Vastu Shastra can be translated as the science of dwelling.
