Main Door is the first and foremost point of Vastu Complaint home, because we enter from there. I have undergone various readings and have seen many practical cases of Vastu Main door placement. To keep the data very simple and easy to understand, I will not give a lot of data here, but only the usable data. And how to find the placement of door, the easiest way.
As per Vatu Shashtra, there can be 32 placements of the main door. To understand the placement of
“Main Door,” I will make you understand this in two different ways –
Method 1 - Division of a plot in 64 equal parts.
Method 2 - Corresponding degrees of 32 positions of the Main Door.
Also, for a few main door positions, there are exceptions discussed as a result (marked in yellow, in
the diagram below). For any such exceptions found, I always simply drop that main door position
(will mention these exception positions for the benefit of learners).

Above diagram shows 32 places of the Main Door installation. For the ease of every learner, I will not
name the door place here. Rather as mentioned above, I will talk about 32 Positions and degrees
corresponding to those positions.
Under these three conditions, the calculations from both the methods (dividing into 64 equal parts
or degree method) will be same:
1) No deviation in the degrees.
2) Square Plot
3) No Cut or Extension
If any of the above conditions, are not satisfied, the centre of the plot will shift. In this case
Method 2, i.e. Degrees should be given preference. Always remember to calculate degrees only from
the centre of the plot.
Main Door position and result: There are 32 Main Door Positions mentioned in Vastu Shashtra.
There are 8 positions in each direction, as mentioned below:
North – N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, N7, N8
East – E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8
South – S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8
West – W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6, W7, W8
Firstly, let me give you those positions, which I have never encountered any exception. The same are
also shown in the diagram above, marked in green. These positions are following:
North – N3, N4, N5
East – E3, E4
South – S4
West – W4, W5
For the above mentioned 8 positions of the main door, there are no exceptions in any text. Below,

Remedies: There are remedies specified for the wrong placement of the Main Door.
