House Vastu
Vastu Shastra principles, when applied to residential construction, aim to create a harmonious and beneficial living environment. By understanding the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space) and their relationship to the directions, one can optimize energy flow and create a space that
promotes well-being. Key aspects include proper placement of rooms, doors, and windows, as well as consideration of the overall layout and design of the house.
We have learnt about Main door placements in the previous section. Now as we enter the house, there are multiple sections of the house, which requires proper placement as per Vedic Vastu Guidelines. Without wasting much of the learner’s time, I will take you through the ancient structure
defined in Vastu Shastra. We will also map it to the types of rooms to be considered in the modern times.
Consider a layout as mentioned below. To understand the placements perfectly, we will consider 16 sub-directions. You will learn sub-directions and their degrees, as you go through the table below. Remember when the plot is tilted, degrees will be considered, instead of divisions.

The above 16 divisions or 16 sub-directions gives a fair idea of which part of a house should be used for which purpose. However, certain placements meant for past times, do not exist now. Therefore, giving you below the plotting, as per the modern times. The same diagram is again recreated with the modern needs and all possibilities of placement of rooms. There is enormous data on the internet, but no data clearly gives information at one place. Below table, I am ensuring that every placement inside the house, can accommodate in one single table, in the easiest possible manner. The learners can take a note of this and can easily check their home Vastu, as per the Vedic Vastu Shastra principles.

Above, I have ensured to indicate all possible placements of different forms of room, inside a house. However, there are priorities defined from best place to an okay place for a particular room type. We will discuss this one by one in the coming segments starting from the most important place of God in the house i.e. your Pooja Room. The same diagram will be used, to ensure that the learners are easily comprehending the placements.
